Fix mobile sign in problems

We want your Yahoo experience to be seamless. Signing in to your favorite services from a mobile device allows you to stay connected, whether you're relaxing on the couch or on the go. Use the tips below to fix common login problems involving your password, device, or security settings.

Password problems

  • Capitalizing - Your device might auto-capitalize the first letter of your password.
  • Incorrect password - If you're not sure you're using the correct password, tap I forgot my password.
  • Special characters - If your password has characters that aren't available on your device, change the password using a desktop computer.
  • Two-step verification, On-demand password, or Yahoo Account Key - If you've enabled one of these features, you may need to use an app password to access your account on your non-Yahoo app.

Device related problems

  • App issues - Fix your issue using our Android and iOS app help articles.
  • Device instructions - Check your phone's official website for help pages on the native app.
  • Cache and cookies - If you recently cleared the cache and cookies on your mobile browser, you've signed out of that session and must sign in again.
  • Insecure apps - Yahoo blocks account access from programs and apps that have outdated security. Give temporary access to an insecure app while you switch apps.

Clear security setting conflicts

If you still can't sign in after checking the above steps, clear your security settings by removing all apps connected to your Yahoo account. You'll need to reconnect your third-party apps once this is done.

  1. Sign in to your Yahoo Account.
  2. Click Recent activity.
  3. Go to Apps connected to your account.
  4. Click remove next to all entries.
  5. Sign in to your Yahoo account on your mobile device.

  1. From a Yahoo app tap the Menu icon Image of the menu icon..
  2. Tap Account info.
    - If you're using the Yahoo Mail app, tap Manage accounts then Account info to see this option.
  3. Tap Recent activity.
  4. Go to Apps connected to your account.
  5. Tap remove next to all entries.
  6. Sign in to your Yahoo account on your mobile device.
