Get help if someone posts intimate content of you without your permission

Finding out that someone put your private images or videos online without your consent can be devastating. Here are some resources to help you take action and get the support you might need.

Report it

If this happened on Yahoo, let us know so we can investigate and remove the content. Click a Yahoo site below for instructions on how to submit a report.

Yahoo Answers

  1. Mouse over the content and click the Flag icon Report Abuse Icon.
  2. Select I think this question violates the Terms of Service.
  3. In the "Additional Details" field, let us know that you appear in an intimate image without your consent and provide any other relevant information may help in our investigation.
  4. Click Report Abuse.

Yahoo Groups

  1. Mouse over the photo and click the Down arrow icon Down arrow.
  2. Click Report abuse flag Report Photo.
  3. In the "Reason" field, let us know that you appear in an intimate image without your consent and provide any other relevant information that may help in our investigation.
  4. Next to "Report to," select Yahoo.
  5. Click Report.

Open a case with us and provide the following details:

  • Let us know that you appear in an intimate image without your consent
  • Yahoo ID of reported user, if available (if not, enter Not available)

  • Search terms used to find the content

Open a case with us and provide the following details:

  • A detailed description of the issue and the service used
  • Let us know that you appear in an intimate image without your consent
  • An accurate email address

Info we may request for action

We might ask you to provide us with the following information during our investigation:

  • A legible copy of your photo ID (passport, driver's license, or state issued ID)
  • The URL where the content is posted

Don't worry. If we need a photo ID for this investigation, we'll verify your identity and then immediately destroy copies of your photo ID to protect your privacy. Under no circumstances do we retain your documents for our files, and we'd never sell or share this info with others.
