Fix video and interactive feature problems

A slow Internet connection or an outdated version of Adobe Flash Player can cause problems with videos, or interactive features like games on Yahoo. Following the steps below will help you update Adobe Flash Player, and make sure you have a strong Internet connection.

Before completing these steps - make sure you're using the latest version of a Yahoo supported Web browser. Outdated or unsupported browsers don't work well with Yahoo features.

Update Adobe Flash Player

Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash player installed on your computer. You can check which version you have on Adobe's Flash Player help site.

If you don't have Adobe Flash Player, use these steps to install it:

  1. Download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.
  2. Run the Adobe Flash Player installer.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Check your Internet connection and system resources

Depending on the time of day, or the number of people using the same Internet service provider as you simultaneously, the quality of your Internet connection can vary. Here are some things you can check:

  • Close extra browser windows, tabs, and applications.
Having too many program windows, Web browser tabs, or applications open at one time can slow your system down.
  • Make sure you have a strong Internet connection.
Check your Internet connection speed. You can find free "Internet speed test" Websites in Yahoo Search. If you have frequent problems with connection speed, contact your Internet service provider.
